<p>October 11, 2016 Council Meeting City of Oronoco Special City Council Meeting Agenda November 10, 2016 6:15 PM I. Call to Order: meeting was called to order at 6:15 pm. II. Roll Call: Members present; Mayor Kevin McDermott, Councilor Trish Shields, Councilor Ryland Eichhorst, Councilor Beau Hanenberger, and Clerk Sandy Jessen. Councilor Skyler Breitenstein arrived 3 minutes later. III. Public Works New Hire: Applicants A and B; recommend applicant A. He has his special boilers license, will get his C license and willing to complete the other trainings. We felt he would best fit the City for long term purposes. There was an initial interview and then met with him a second time to go over additional items. He was also spoken to a third time on Monday. There would be a consideration of a $.30 raise at six months once licenses are obtained and a start pay of $17. He would be able to start in two weeks. His current position works with the public and is eager and willing. Mayor Kevin McDermott motioned to hire applicant A and in six months licenses will be acquired, he will receive a $.50 raise. Councilor Skyler Breitenstein second. Discussion: does the policy manual require 6 month probation? All in favor, motion carried. IV. River Park Well House: estimates; Electrical estimates: low bid is Pine Heat & Air. Councilor Skyler Breitenstein motioned to accept the Pine Heat & Air bid, Mayor Kevin McDermott second; Discussion: both saw what needed to be done, not sure what the difference would be union vs. non-union. Councilor Ask for more detail on the bid. Councilor Beau Hanenberger abstained. All opposed until clarification is received. Doors and siding repair on the new well house. Low bid is the Jessen bid. Councilor Skyler Breitenstein motioned to accept the Jessen bid with all the options, Mayor Kevin McDermott second. All in favor, motion carried. V. Public Works Cain Dolan training: Mayor Kevin McDermott motioned to approve the Eden Prairie training, Councilor Trish Shields second; discussion: Councilor Trish Shields we have not sent him to training for supervisors role and how to handle the position. Insurance policy for the City. Councilor Ryland Eichhorst has spoken with Chuck and he recommends. Drive two days, stay one night at a hotel, will use the City truck. Money is in the budget to stay 3 days in a hotel. Drive would be paid. Councilor Skyler Breitenstein and Mayor Kevin McDermott did meet with Cain frequently for direction on new hires. All in favor, motion carried. VI.
