<p> Grade 11 University Biology – Unit 3 Evolution Summative Assignment – In-Class Essay Summative</p><p>You must prepare an essay for one of the following topics.  How can an individual maintain faith when confronted with all the scientific evidence of evolution? Are religion and evolution compatible?  Do Darwin’s ideas about natural selection, mutations, “survival of the fittest” and evolution explain complex organisms (e.g., you) effectively? Evolution is easy to accept when it relates to simple changes, but how does it explain a complex change (e.g., eye, walking, “motorized” flagella in bacteria, brain development)? Does Darwin’s model fit effectively to that degree of change?</p><p>Your essay will be constructed, written AND completed within 45 minutes during class time on 29 Wednesday 2011.
