<p> Spelling Activities</p><p>Select one activity each night. Spelling will be assigned on Monday through Wednesday evenings. On Thursday nights students will take a practice spelling test which will need to be signed by a parent.</p><p>Monday- ALL words  Alphabetize your spelling words.  Write your complete list twice using cursive, printing, and/or BLOCK letters.  Sort your spelling words into at least two categories of your own choosing.</p><p>Tuesday  Write 10 spelling sentences. See below for more details.  Write synonyms, antonyms, and/or explain how it is a multiple meaning word for at least 15 spelling words.  Illustrate and color at least 10 spelling words. Include a matching sentence for each illustration.  Write your complete list twice using cursive, printing, and/or BLOCK letters.</p><p>Wednesday  Define the ten words on your spelling list. For each, give the part of speech and write a sentence using the word in it.  Create a crossword puzzle using at least 10 of your spelling words. Provide clues and an answer key.  Write “Jeopardy” questions and answers for at least 15 spelling words.  Print 15 words from your list and then each word using the Phoenician alphabet.  Write your complete list twice using cursive, printing, and/or BLOCK letters.</p><p>Thursday  Take a practice spelling test and have your parents sign it.</p><p>How to Do Tuesday Night Spelling Sentences Homework</p><p>If you chose to do Tuesday night spelling sentences, you must include the following:</p><p> Write 10 sentences. Underline the spelling words.  Sentences must be a minimum of eight words long. Use adjectives (words that describe nouns) and adverbs (words that describe verbs) to stretch your sentences add more detail to your sentences. Ask yourself who, what, where, when or why?  Two of your sentences must be questions (interrogative sentences). For example: Where is the blue notebook I left on the dining room table?  If you wish, you may write a story with your spelling words, but the same rules still apply.</p>
