Circle Check: Assisted driver prior to moving vehicle.</p><p>2. Mirrors and Seat: Checked and adjusted</p><p>3. Seat belts: Tiller person seated and restrained. </p><p>4. Visual Scan: Completed before departure.</p><p>Tillering</p><p>5. Maintain center alignment: Tiller person maintains center alignment with tractor while driving forward. </p><p>6. Two hands on steering wheel: 9 and 3 hand placement</p><p>7. Shuffle Steering: Shuffle steering used appropriately, no palming the wheel or 1-handed turns. </p><p>8. Steering: Maintains hand position, only steers when necessary.</p><p>9. Visual Lead Time: Aim high and try to see 12-15 seconds ahead of you.</p><p>10. Scan Left-Right-Left: Scan every 6-10 seconds and at intersections to assist driver. </p><p>11. Left and Right Turns: Completed left and right turns with out over or under steering. Return to center alignment ASAP.</p><p>Communications</p><p>12. Head Sets: Tiller person uses headsets and maintains communication with driver.</p><p>13. Manual signals: 1-Beep Stop, 2-Beeps go & 3-Beeps back-up </p><p>5/18/2018 - 1 - Backing</p><p>14. Avoidance: Positioned vehicle to avoid backing.</p><p>15 Positioning: Backed unit upon arrival if appropriate.</p><p>16. Eye Contact: Maintain visual awareness of spotters location, give stop signal if location of spotter is lost.</p><p>17. Spotter: Positioned at left rear of trailer or tractor as directed.</p><p>18. Mirrors: Scanned opposite mirror every 8-10 seconds.</p><p>19. Communication: Hand signals used and understood, Tiller person’s window rolled down.</p><p>Scene Operations</p><p>20. Equipment: Tiller person set-up and operated equipment as required.</p><p>21. Operator tasks: Tiller person performed required operator tasks successfully.</p><p>22.
