<p> Short Story Poster Project</p><p>Project Assignment Date: Wednesday, September 29, 2010 Due Date: Wednesday, October 6, 2010 Presentations will begin on Wednesday. Make sure to practice your presentation before getting in front of the class. Each person should know what section they are teaching the class and have a strong understanding of their topic(s). **Any posters that are turned in late will result in a 10 point deduction. </p><p>Objective: Working in a group, you will be creating a poster representing all of the parts of the short story that has been assigned to you. Your poster must include the following:</p><p>1. The name, author, and illustration for your book 2. Theme 3. Setting 4. Characters and characterization – a. Draw a symbol for one character in the story and tell why you chose that symbol b. Choose a character and write down one word that describes them and give a quote from the story that proves that this is how the character is characterized in the story. (Make sure to put your quotes in quotation marks, then followed by the page number – ex. “Zaroff was… ” (245) c. Make a list of all other characters and point out any traits that make them unique in the story. 5. Point-of-View that your story is told from 6. An example of irony OR cause-and-effect from the short story 7. Plot (see below!!) 8. Vocabulary Words (look at the beginning of your short story. They will be listed there.) 9. Creativity!! Parts of your poster should be derived from technology resources. **The more creative you make it, the more extra credit you will get. You can receive up to 10 extra credit points, which will count as a test grade (45% of your grade!!!)</p><p>On a special portion of your poster, you need to represent the plot of your story. You can do this by:  creating a flow map and labeling each part of the plot  creating a plot diagram and labeling each part of the plot  any other unique way that you can think of to represent the plot  The following must be a part of your plot representation: 1. Exposition Statement 2. Rising Action (at least one event from this) 3. Conflict (tell whether it is an internal or external; including the protagonist vs. the antagonist) 4. Climax 5. Falling Action (at least one event from this) 6.
