<p> TOWN OF UNION ROADSIDE BRUSH REMOVAL</p><p>The Town of Union will be accepting Request for Proposals (RFP’s) for the removal of brush along certain roads in the Town of Union.</p><p>ROADS: North Union Road 6.2m, Overlock Hill Road 1.94 miles, Butler Road 2.78 miles</p><p>SPECIFICATIONS: Brush shall be cut to ground level 8 feet from the shoulder of the road, all branches overhanging within 8 feet of the shoulder shall be pruned to a level above 14 feet in height. All measurements are to be done when the trees are fully leafed. </p><p>Special considerations of boundary lines and residential trees shall be a priority as to minimal impact on the landowner.</p><p>CHIPPING/ BRUSH REMOVAL: All brush and or chips shall be removed from the property, chips only may be disposed of at the Union Public Works garage.</p><p>REQUIREMENTS OF SUCCESSFUL FIRM: Within 3 days of award the successful firm shall provide the Town of Union proof of Liability Insurance of at least $1,000,000 ( one million dollars) and shall name the Town of Union as additional insured. Certificate holder status is not sufficient. Proof of Workers Comp or Predetermination of Independent Contractor status also required.</p><p>TIME FRAME: All trees shall be trimmed when they are in full vegetative state, the Road Commissioner and Contractor shall determine a mutually agreeable date of completion before contract signing.</p><p>SITE INSPECTION: All firms are encouraged to drive each road to be sure of the nature of the work involved. Any questions should be directed to the Road Commissioner before submitting any proposals.</p><p>SAFETY REQUIREMENTS: All firms shall be required to follow all OSHA regulations as well as Maine DOT traffic control when applicable. ( Including; safety signs and flaggers if needed) No roads shall be closed to traffic for more than 10 minutes without notifying the Road Commissioner.
