<p> An Introduction to understanding and applying the principles of Person Centred Care in dementia care: 1 day Workshop The term person centred care is mentioned a lot in the context of what good dementia care should look like. However, in order to do so, there is a need for an understanding of the theory behind it, and an ability to translate theory into practice. This workshop will equip you with knowledge and skills tools and techniques to improve care within your organisation. The teaching will use a variety of methods. The approach is of interactive and inclusive learning. Learning Outcomes  Understand the underlying principles of person centred care and way to apply it to the individual’s needs. The content includes :  Differentiate between common myths and facts about dementia  Gain an understanding of the enriched model of dementia care  Recognising what is good dementia care through the VIPS framework  Reflection on one’s knowledge and beliefs about dementia, and the impact it has on service delivery Target audience  All health and social care staff who work with people living with dementia. A certificate of attendance will be awarded at the end of the workshop.
