In first- person point of view, the teller is a character in the story telling what he or she sees or knows. In third- person point of view, the narrator is someone outside of the story. 5 SPRINGBOARD UNIT 1 VOCABULARY </p><p>Word/Denotation My Words Example Picture transitions: words or phrases that help the reader follow your story by smoothly connecting ideas, details, or events</p><p> sensory details: details that appeal to the reader’s five senses.
