Waste Watch col.– 10042017

Did you all have your sweatshirts or jackets ready? The weather kind of turned around on us. It's fall, let's enjoy it. We are having a very busy fall at the station. Brandon keeps track of the amount of demolition materials we take in each day and we continue to take in large amounts. Trash and recyclables have dropped off a bit, but we continue to receive a summer-like amount of these as well. As I mentioned to you last week, I am looking at a possible schedule change for next summer. Please let me know if you might prefer Sunday mornings as your trash time instead of Saturday. You can email your response to [email protected] or just speak to us at the station. Many of you enjoy our exchange area between the two compactor lanes. We like the concept too. However, make sure you do not slow down traffic by lingering at the compactors. If you want to take a look at our “treasures,” just move your vehicle to another area and come back. Enjoy. Attention! Please don't put dead animals in the compactors, especially skunks. We all suffered on Saturday because someone thought this was OK. It's not. It is annoying and it happens way too often. Thanks for your cooperation. Have a wonderful week in Maine.
