<p> STEP-BY-STEP APPLICATION CHECKLIST FOR THE </p><p>Medical Laboratory Technology STUDENT </p><p>_____ Complete the MGCCC College Admission Requirements</p><p>____ Meet with the Medical Lab Technology Counselor/Enrollment Specialist on the Jackson County campus and/or the Medical Lab Technology Program Director for detailed program information. </p><p>____ Visit the Medical Laboratory Technology Program Website </p><p>____ Attend a Mandatory Pre-Allied Health Orientation Session (Information on website - including current dates/times)</p><p>Register for and successfully complete the following Prerequisites:</p><p>____ Complete at least 4 of the program’s Academic Core* courses. One of the 4 courses must be Anatomy & Physiology I. Grade in course must be of a “C” or higher to receive credit. </p><p>*Academic Core courses include: ENG 1113, PSY 1513, MAT 1313, BIO 2514, BIO 2524, CHE 1214 or 1314, BIO 2924, SPT 1113, and a Humanities/Fine Art Elective</p><p>____ Hold a minimum cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.5 on college work.</p><p>____ Achieve a minimum Accuplacer English placement score of 175</p><p>____ Achieve a minimum Accuplacer Math placement score of 53</p><p>____ Obtain a Criminal Background Check from a MGCCC Campus Police office. The CBC result is required prior to submitting the application. Please check the program’s website for the Campus Police testing times.</p><p>____ Optional; Phlebotomy (ASCP) Certification (Additional points will be awarded to those who hold this certification) ____ After successful completion of all academic and entry requirements, the student may submit an Allied Health Application for Program Admission beginning April 15th of each year.
