<p>Sentence Combining: Making longer sentences</p><p>When you write, you can make your sentences longer and more interesting by combining two sentences together. Coordinating conjunctions are words that you can use to connect two simple sentences. The coordinating conjunctions are:</p><p> for and nor but or yet so</p><p>I like to play soccer. My sister likes to dance. I like to play soccer, but my sister likes to dance</p><p>Combine these two sentences into one using a coordinating conjunction (for, and, nor, but, or, yet or so).</p><p>Example: Animals need exercise. You should play with your pet every day.</p><p>Animals need exercise, so you should play with your pet every day.</p><p>1. Cats enjoy playing with cat toys. Dogs enjoy chasing balls.</p><p>______</p><p>2. People have to take care of their pets. Pets give people a lot of joy.</p><p>______</p><p>3. There are many unwanted pets.
