How long will they last? o Will choose a new company and look into better warrantees and quality  Richard – had funded equipment under assumption that they would last for quite a bit of time (5 years, etc)  Speakers are essential part of WAMH and are getting several complaints  RJ – should we fund everything when they break or after a certain amount of time?  Also tried to get insurance before, but BC have never funded insurance in the past  RJ – why did the speakers get like this in the first place? o Failed within 6 months of getting it o Richard – is this in fault of students? o RJ - Is there a way to institutionalize the use of it  Company looking at now has 3 year warrantee o RJ – are there any other additional costs built in? o Doesn’t seem so  RJ – are these high end speakers? WAMH (rep by Lindon)  Have 5 artists in total, so need 2 openers for next event  RJ – why do we need 2 openers for 1 night? o Smaller artists  RJ – from his experience, people don’t usually show up early enough at the powerhouse to see opener o Artists are pretty high energy, so would be more likely to stay if they are there  People are also more likely to come at earlier times now  Karen – have you ever had more than 1 opener for other events? o The next one with Marsh  Also getting 2-3k from student activities to support them as well  RJ – seems better to fund 1 since that seems to go against the rule set before about 500 for openers  This concert is not mostly about the artists, but more about the label  Richard – do these people have to come? o Already purchased the flights, so would come anyways o Hao – do they know that they’re no guaranteed they would get honorarium?  Club budgets could be moved around? o RJ – not a slush fund, can’t just pick and choose  Amtrac ended up being the only one available and only cost 4k instead of 5k  Tierney – why were the honorarium not requested to be reallocated before when asking for transportation?  Richard – seems too late to be have this conversation since we’ve already funded the transportation  RJ – any more concerts? o In apr 17  Motion to fund – 6, 1, 0  RJ – from now forward, should return to original policy of 1 opener of 500  For apr 17 concert, with Marsh House  Already funded hotel, transportation, etc  Asking for 240 for getting people from airport  Need to amend sound and lighting because for other equipment  Openers requested on behalf of marsh house o Richard – could be viewed as 2 additional acts for marsh and 1 opener for wamh  Motion to fund wamh opener and rest but not marsh opener – 4, 0, 2

9.
