<p>Part time INTERNSHIP at Singtao Chinese Radio and TV - South San Francisco</p><p>Sing Tao News (星島日報) is Hong Kong's 2nd largest Chinese language newspaper. The USA overseas editions of the Sing Tao Daily is the largest Chinese language newspaper in the USA. Sing Tao Chinese Radio (1400 AM and 96.1 FM) is the radio division of the Sing Tao News Corporation in the San Francisco Bay Area with over 50000 listeners. Professor Stanley Kwong of USF School of Management is the Mandarin and the Cantonese commentator for economic affairs at Singtao News in the Bay Area. http://www.chineseradio.com/main/ Production and Broadcasting Interns (Salary: Unpaid) Purpose: To provide students with hands-on work experience in story conception, research, development, and production. Intern Duties and Responsibilities • Research content, photos, and archive footage. • Assist in field productions as needed and available. • Assist in closed-captioning of programs and promotions. • Log and transcribe tapes of interviews and b-roll. • Develop an understanding of copyright issues, how to obtain clearance, and the basics of fair use law. • Assist in setting-up and conducting interviews. • Operate studio and field production equipment. • Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: • Must currently be enrolled at USF or a recent USF graduate • Proficiency in conducting internet research in English and Chinese • Must exhibit attention to detail, excellent organization, and communication skills. • A commitment of at least 12 hours per week Production Activities: Interns will work with industry professionals 2 openings at the Cantonese station (must speak Hong Kong or Guangzhou Cantonese) 1 opening at Mandarin station (must speak standard Putonghua) LOCATION: 5000 Shoreline Ct Ste 300.
