<p> July 1, 2010 REVISION OF SECTION 612 REFLECTOR STRIP</p><p>NOTICE</p><p>This is a standard special provision that revises or modifies CDOT’s Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction It has gone through a formal review and approval process and has been issued by CDOT’s Project Development Branch with formal instructions for its use on CDOT construction projects. It is to be used as written without change. Do not use modified versions of this special provision on CDOT construction projects, and do not use this special provision on CDOT projects in a manner other than that specified in the instructions unless such use is first approved by CDOT’s Standards and Specifications Unit. The instructions for use on CDOT construction projects appear below.</p><p>Other agencies which use the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction to administer construction projects may use this special provision as appropriate and at their own risk.</p><p>Instructions for use on CDOT construction projects: </p><p>Use this standard special on projects having reflector strips. July 1, 2010 REVISION OF SECTION 612 REFLECTOR STRIP</p><p>Section 612 of the Standard Specifications is hereby revised for this project as follows:</p><p>Subsection 612.02 (a) shall include the following:</p><p>3. Reflector Strip. Reflector strip shall be 3M “Scotchlite” Series 344/346.</p><p>Subsection 612.03 shall include the following:</p><p>The Contractor shall install reflector strips in conformance with manufacturer's recommendations.</p><p>The length of each reflector strip shall be 34 inches, unless otherwise approved. The Contractor shall adjust the spacing between reflector strips as recommended by the manufacturer to fit the condition called for in the Contract. Cutting of the reflector strips will not be permitted.</p><p>Subsection 612.04 shall include the following:</p><p>Reflector strips will be measured by the actual number that are installed and accepted.</p><p>Subsection 612.05 shall include the following:</p><p>Pay Item Pay Unit Reflector Strip (4 Inch) Each Reflector Strip (6 Inch) Each</p><p>Surface preparation, brackets, fasteners and adhesive will not be measured and paid for separately, but shall be included in the work.</p>
