Based in Ranhill-Worley’s offices in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia supervising and stewarding the EPC’s detailed engineering & design. The project encompasses a new gas compression facility (CP-1) located 2 km away from USSC comprising 3 compression trains capable of injecting an annual average of 600 MMSCFD (Khuff and/or associated gas), a new utility/accommodation facility (UAP), bridge linked to the above-mentioned new compression facility (CP-1), a new separation facility (CSP-1) and produced water disposal tower (UWDT) located adjacent to the existing facilities at USSC, and bridge linked to the USSC-Water Injection Platform, modifications to existing Wellhead Towers US-213, 272 & 290 for gas production and injection and associated sub sea pipelines & cables. Specific duties were to work with the main EPC Contractor (Hyundai Heavy Industries) monitoring the Engineering Sub-contractor’s (Ranhill-Worley) instrumentation and control activities to ensure that they are in accordance with the Contract and Project Documentation & Specifications to ensure adherence throughout the complete detailed engineering & design phase of the project. </p><p>ExxonMobil Exploration & Production Company (EMPC) (Jan 2006 – Aug 2006) Position: Instrument Commissioning/Start-Up Engineer</p><p>Worked as part of the Integrated Commissioning & Start-up Team (ICT) on the Erha FPSO in OPL block 209, approximately 90kms offshore Nigeria in 1,200 metres of deepwater. The Erha field development consists of FPSO, flowlines & risers, subsea & umbilical equipment producing 230k bopd and 540mscf/d associated gas. Responsible for the final commissioning and start up of the Process Control System (PCS) Foxboro I/A including loop tuning & alarm management, associated safety systems ESD/PSD & FGS (Triconex) and instrumentation under ExxonMobil Permit to Work (PTW) System & Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and supporting ongoing operations and maintenance activities. Responsible for the day to day supervision of Instrument Technicians during ongoing activities.</p><p>Robertson International Project Management & Consultant Engineers (Jan 2004 – Jan 2006) Position: Project Engineer – Electrical, Instrument & Control </p><p>Responsible for the engineering, design, modification & troubleshooting of instrumentation (pneumatic, analogue, and electronic), controls, DCS and ESD systems (ABB Freelance 800F), SCADA, PLCs, Vibration and Fire & Safety Systems. The facilities include several Gas Oil Separation Plants (GOSPs) comprising of well heads, flow lines, gathering manifolds, production & test separators, degassers, dehydrators, glycol dehydration units, gas processing & transmission, off sites & utilities, long pipelines, booster stations comprising of large multistage centrifugal pumps with variable speed drive electrical motors, multistage compressors with anti-surge systems, water treatment & injection, fire fighting & safety systems. Previously based in the Middle East working on Project Management Consultancy Services for various Clients associated with the Oil & Gas Industry. Shell Global Solution International (SGSI) for Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) (Nov. 2002 – Jan. 2004) Position: Senior Instrument Engineer Responsible as Client’s (SGSI) sole discipline focal point (as part of the Integrated Management Team) to supervise and oversee the EPC Contractor’s execution of the detailed engineering & design on the Cawthorne Channel Associated Gas Gathering Project for SPDC in Nigeria based at the EPC Contractor’s Engineering & Design offices in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The Project consisted of a number of flow stations, gas receipt, compression, dehydration and export facilities located in the Port Harcourt and surrounding areas. Specific duties were to work with the main EPC Contractor (Daewoo) as part of an Integrated Management Team in conjunction with monitoring the Engineering Sub-contractor’s (Mott MacDonald) instrumentation & control detailed engineering & design activities to ensure that they are in accordance with the Project Specifications and DEPs to ensure consistency throughout the complete design and to participate in HAZOP and SIL reviews. The control systems consists of Emerson (Fisher- Rosemount) Delta V Process Automation System (PAS) and HIMA Instrument Protection System (IPS), Fire & Gas System (FGS) and SCADA. Field instrumentation consists of a mixture of HART Smart transmitters and Foundation Fieldbus transmitters and final control elements. Also included on this project are 5 fiscal metering packages (3 gas and 2 liquid with associated gas and liquid sampling systems) and analyser house. </p><p>Technip (Jul 2001 - Oct 2002) Position: Resident Engineer (Previously Senior Instrument Engineer)</p><p>Responsible as Client Representative (TAKREER) for Project Management Consultancy Services for pre-commissioning, commissioning and final close-out on the Ruwais Sulphur Handling Phase II Expansion Project in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The Project was awarded to SKEC of Korea to upgrade and replace the existing Bailey INFI 90 DCS with a new expanded ABB Symphony DCS (combined process control & safeguarding system) including replacement of some of the existing PLCs (Allen Bradley) and interfacing the DCS with the remainder. Provision of a new control building, MCC and switchgear rooms, 4 additional granulation units, conveyors, incinerator, nitrogen generation package and additional auxiliary equipment and associated instrumentation. </p><p>Parsons International Limited (Dec 2000 – June 2001) Position: Lead Instrument/DCS Engineer</p><p>Responsible as Client Representative (Borouge) for overseeing and stewarding the construction acceptance, inspection, pre- commissioning and commissioning of the Borouge Petrochemicals Project, Ruwais, Abu Dhabi. The Project consisted of two major lump sum EPC&C grass roots contracts for one 600kta Ethylene Plant, Utilities and Offsites and two 225kta Polyethylene Plants, Product Handling, Container Terminal and Marine Facilities. Areas of responsibility include the Distributed Control System (Honeywell TPS), Emergency Shutdown System (Triconex), Fire & Gas System , MCC’s and switchgear, Liquid Ethylene Import/Export Customer Receipt Station (Fiscal Metering), Flow, Level, Temperature, Pressure and Analytical Instrumentation and associated systems.</p><p>Foster Wheeler Energy Ltd (Jan 1998 – Dec 2000) Position: Lead Control Systems Engineer</p><p>Worked on the Exxon-European Long Term Agreement (Exxon-ELTA) De-bottlenecking, Modification and Upgrading Project. Previously working on the AMOCO Geel Paraxylene Plant, Belgium being responsible for the preparation of the Honeywell FSC (Fail Safe Control) Safety Management System (SMS) functional logic diagrams, point & Comms configuration for the Protective Instruments Systems PIS (Emergency Shutdown System) and the Fire & Gas System (FGS). Initially responsible for the detailed engineering and design of the instrumentation and control systems for the Oman LNG Complex at Qalhat, Oman. Specific duties included specification, engineering, design and preparation of the Honeywell FSC (Fail Safe Control) Safety Management System (SMS) functional logic diagrams, point & COMs configuration for the Safeguarding System SGS (Emergency Shutdown System), Fire & Gas System (FGS), factory acceptance testing (F.A.T) at Honeywell, Bracknell and systems integration testing (S.I.T) with the Distributed Control System (DCS) and package equipment at Yokogawa, Amersfoort, Holland. Specific duties included review of Process Engineering Flow Schemes (PEFS), including review and co-ordination with the Client and Vendors, preparation of I/O counts, updating the instrument database (dBase V) and the IN (Integrated Instrumentation Engineering, Design & Maintenance System) database, preparation of configuration guidelines specification, configuration data, configuration block diagrams, instrument loop typical component list, graphic display building and liaison with the DCS vendor. Also responsible for the preparation of field instrument data sheets, preparation of material requisitions and technical appraisal of vendor quotations, drawings and documentation and co-ordination with Vendors and Client liaison for the systems and instrumentation listed above.
