<p> BRAXTON COUNTY</p><p>BOARD OF EDUCATION</p><p>July 30, 2014</p><p>The Braxton County Board of Education met in a regular session at the Braxton County Board of Education office, Sutton</p><p>West Virginia on Tuesday, July 30, 2014 at 6 p.m. The following members were present:</p><p>Kathy Parker, President Dave Hoover, Vice President Van Carr Mike Chapman Jimmy Huffman</p><p>The meeting was called to order by President Kathy Parker at 6:00 p.m. </p><p>Kathy Parker offered a non-denominational prayer.</p><p>Mike Chapman moved and Jimmy Huffman seconded to approve the consent agenda items (minutes of meeting on July 22, 2014, payment of bills, budget transfers and supplements, permission to attend Nicholas County Schools from Braxton County Schools, permission to attend Gilmer County Schools from Braxton County</p><p>Schools.) Vote: Unanimous.</p><p>Mike Chapman moved and Van Carr seconded to approve the following Employment/Reassignments – Professional:</p><p>1. Kelsey Metz – Pre-School Special Needs/Head Start Home-Base Teacher (Itinerant) Burnsville Elementary effective August 4, 2014 2. Mary Given – Math Teacher BCHS effective upon board appointment 3. Jennifer Arambula – 5th Grade Teacher Flatwoods Elementary effective August 4, 2014</p><p>Vote: Unanimous</p><p>Dave Hoover moved and Jimmy Huffman moved to change the effective date for Mary Given’s employment to August 4, 2014.</p><p>Vote: Unanimous </p><p>Dave Hoover moved and Mike Chapman seconded to approve the following requests to have names added to the substitute teacher list effective the beginning of the 2014-15 school year:</p><p>1. Margaret Squires 2. Brenda Gibson</p><p>Vote: Unanimous</p><p>Mike Chapman moved and Dave Hoover seconded to approve the following resignations – Professional:</p><p>1. Linda Brady - Kindergarten Teacher Flatwoods Elementary effective August 1, 2014 2. Lisa Ellis – GED Options Teacher BCHS effective retroactive July 29, 2014</p><p>Vote: Unanimous</p><p>Dave Hoover moved and Van Carr seconded to approve the following rescission of RIF – Professional:</p><p>1. Jill Hoherz – Physical Education Teacher Frametown Elementary </p><p>Vote: Unanimous</p><p>Dave Hoover moved and Mike Chapman seconded to approve the second reading/on comment Policy 2600 – Transportation Young </p><p>Riders/Parent Pick Up. Vote: Unanimous</p><p>Mike Chapman moved and Van Carr seconded to approve the </p><p>Braxton County Head Start/Pre-K Continuous Quality Improvement </p><p>Plan for 2014-15.</p><p>Vote: Unanimous</p><p>Dave Hoover moved and Jimmy Huffman seconded to approve the</p><p>Braxton County Head Start Training Plan for 2014-15.</p><p>Vote: Unanimous</p><p>Dave Hoover moved and Mike Chapman seconded to convene into ex ecutive session under 6-9A-4 (2)(A) at 6:27 p.m. for Executive </p><p>Legal and student matters. Vote: Unanimous</p><p>Jimmy Huffman moved and Mike Chapman seconded to reconvene into regular session. Vote: Unanimous</p><p>The board reconvened into regular session at 7:15 p.m. with no action taken.</p><p>David Dilly reported on the Principal’s Academy and Senate</p><p>Bill 2940.
