<p> Harvard Fellowship 2014</p><p>The Lehigh Valley Nonprofit Capacity-Building Program</p><p> in conjunction with </p><p>Program Objective: To build the leadership capacity of Lehigh Valley nonprofit organizations working in health/human services, arts/culture/humanities, or environmental conservation where the participant has the ability to influence both their organization and our community</p><p>Program Overview: United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley will coordinate a fellowship program for a Lehigh Valley nonprofit organization’s CEO, President or Executive Director to attend the Harvard Business School’s weeklong Strategic Perspectives in Nonprofit Management (SPNM) program on July 13-19, 2014. A generous donor, Ferdinand Thun, funds the scholarship for this rigorous capacity-building program.</p><p>Criteria for Selection: The candidate must meet the Harvard Business School (HBS) application criteria in addition to the following:</p><p> Submit the seven-page Lehigh Valley version of the HBS Strategic Perspectives in Nonprofit Management application form, a writeable PDF. Completed forms can be sent by email ([email protected]) or fax (610.867.7255), or mailed to Mary Widmer, United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley, 1110 American Parkway NE, Allentown, PA 18109 by Monday, March 24, 2014.  Lead a nonprofit organization that fits within the health and human services, arts/ culture/humanities, or environmental conservation nonprofit sectors and serves Lehigh and/or Northampton counties in Pennsylvania.  Have the approval (signature on application form) as well as the letter accompaniment of the organization’s Board Chairperson for attendance at SPNM.  Have at least two years of experience in their current role as a nonprofit CEO, President or Executive Director.  Be responsible for shaping the direction, mission, policies and major programs of their organization.  Manage between $500,000 and $10,000,000 in annual budgets.  Manage a staff of at least five paid, full-time employees.  Manage a nonprofit organization with a local office in the Lehigh Valley.  Have the ability to pay travel and incidental expenses for this program. The program takes place from July 13-19, 2014 on the Harvard campus in the Boston, Mass. area. The capacity- building program pays tuition, books, case materials, accommodations and meals.</p><p>Schedule: Applications are due on or before Monday, March 24, 2014.
