<p> SAMUEL BECKETT SUMMER SCHOOL TRINITY COLLEGE DUBLIN, 30 JULY - 4 AUGUST 2017</p><p>A competitive bursary is available for an Emory Graduate Student to attend the 2017 Samuel Beckett Summer School. This partnership bursary waives the cost of registration, €500, and the student selected for the Emory Bursary is eligible for Emory- funded transportation. Each member of the Beckett Summer School elects one seminar led by a noted Beckett scholar to attend for the week. Other events include guest lectures and performances, a tour of the Beckett country, and Mark Nixon’s pub quiz. For updated information, consult: www.facebook.com/BeckettSummerSchool). Alyssa Duck, who attended in 2015 wrote: “ I made lasting connections with both other students and professors researching in the field, and both the lectures and the seminars were extremely useful to my teaching and my project. The Summer School has a very warm as well as a professional environment, and I felt both welcome and challenged. Applicants are asked to write a letter that outlines their interest in the work of Samuel Beckett (maximum of 500 words), accompanied by a letter of recommendation, and a short writing sample. The application letter should demonstrate how this week of intensive association with Beckett scholars and students would broaden and deepen your studies. To complete your application, you must apply to the Summer School when(application is not yet available) and complete other requirements before 1 April 2017. Contact Jay l.
