Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance) </p><p>Job Family and Level: Research & Teaching level 4 TG / 4 (subject to PhD completion)</p><p>Contract Status: Fixed-term starting summer 2016 for 15 Months</p><p>Hours of Work: Full-time, 35.25 hours per week</p><p>Location: University Park Campus</p><p>Reporting to: Dr David T Branson III</p><p>Purpose of the New Role:</p><p>This role is being created as part of funding for an EPSRC 1st Grant (EP/N022505/1) on the development of modelling methods for actuated continuum surfaces undergoing large deformations</p><p>Main Responsibilities % time per year</p><p>1. Conduct research to investigate the development of new modelling techniques 50% providing the tools necessary to enable robust procedures for the design and control of actuated continuum surfaces. To perform day to day management of the research activities, including co-supervision of undergraduate and PhD students. 2. Conduct laboratory based validation of developed model systems. 20% 3. Production of reports, publications, presentations and travel to meetings with 25% project partners. 4.
