<p> Floyd Middle School Band Solo and Ensemble Checklist</p><p>_____ Have you played your pieces for Mr. Smith or Ms. Davidson? Your music must be passed off by one of the directors before attending festival.</p><p>_____ Have you numbered the measures on the judge’s copy?</p><p>_____ Do you have the original copy of your music to give the judge? DO NOT GIVE A PHOTOCOPY TO A JUDGE!!!</p><p>_____ Have you received your time assignment and written it somewhere so you can share it with your parents?</p><p>_____ Do you have a map to Palmer Middle School?</p><p>_____ Have you arranged your schedule to show up at Palmer Middle School about 45 minutes early to register and warm up?</p><p>_____ Have you arranged times to meet with you accompanist or ensemble partners?</p><p>_____ Have you made arrangements to either have a piano accompanist with you at the festival or to provide a CD/tape recording of the accompaniment part? IF THERE IS AN ACCOMPANIMENT PART WRITTEN FOR YOUR PIECE, YOU MUSIC PROVIDE EITHER SOMEONE TO ACCOMPANY YOU OR A TAPED ACCOMPANIMENT.</p><p>_____ Do you have a tape player or CD player to play your pre-recorded accompaniment? You must provide your own player at the festival.</p><p>_____ Have you chosen clothes from your closet that are appropriate for a public performance? Remember that jeans and a T-shirt are not acceptable for a formal performance.</p><p>_____ Are you practicing daily? BE PREPARED AND GOOD LUCK!!</p><p>Please note: We will not know the students’ assigned times until about 3 weeks before the performance. Most performances are before 1 PM. Ask your band directors for help and choose music early!!</p>
