There are several existing vacancies (TO BEGIN IMMEDIATELY) and some upcoming vacancies (TO BEGIN FALL 2009). They are listed below.</p><p>1) Statewide Academic Senator, ASCSU - 1 Upcoming Vacancy Term to begin Fall 2009 through Spring 2012 . All full-time faculty members are eligible to serve.</p><p>2) University-Wide Senator, CSU, Fresno -1 Existing Vacancy Term through 2012 TERM TO BEGIN IMMEDIATELY. All full-time faculty members are eligible to serve. ACADEMIC SENATE MEETS ON MONDAY, 4:00 P.M.</p><p>3) Academic Policy & Planning Committee – 4 Vacancies 1 term through 2011 TERM TO BEGIN IMMEDIATELY, 3 Terms through 2012, terms to begin Fall 2009. College/School/Service Area eligible for nomination are: Agricultural Sciences & Technology, Craig School of Business, Education & Human Development, Health & Human Services, Science & Mathematics, Social Sciences, and Library. COMMITTEE MEETING TIME IS THURSDAY, 2:15 P.M.,WEEKLY.</p><p>4) General Education Committee – 6 Vacancies 1 Term through 2012, term to begin Fall 2009. 2 Terms through 2010, and 3 Terms through 2011, TERMS TO BEGIN IMMEDIATELY. College/School eligible for nomination are: Arts & Humanities, Craig School of Business, Education & Human Development, Engineering, and Health & Human Services. COMMITTEE MEETING TIME IS FRIDAY, 11:OO A.M. – 1:00 P.M., BI-WEEKLY. </p><p>5) Graduate Committee – 3 Vacancies 3 Terms through 2012 to begin Fall 2009. College/School eligible for nomination are: Arts & Humanities, Craig School of Business, and Education & Human Development. COMMITTEE MEETING TIME IS TUESDAY, 2:00 P.M., WEEKLY. (OVER)</p><p>6) Personnel Committee – 2 Vacancies 2 Terms through 2012 to begin Fall 2009 College/School Service Area eligible for nomination are: Craig School of Business, Engineering, Social Sciences, Library and Student Services Professional- Academically Related. COMMITTEE MEETING TIME IS THURSDAY, 9:00 A.M. WEEKLY. </p><p>7) Research Awards Review Committee – 3 Vacancies 3 Terms through 2012 to begin Fall 2009. College/School eligible for nominations are Tenured Full-Time Faculty from: Agricultural Sciences & Technology, Education & Human Development, Engineering, Health & Human Services, and Social Sciences. COMMITTEE MEETING TIME IS WHEN CALLED. PRIMARILY SPRING SEMESTER.</p><p>8) University Budget Committee – 2 Vacancies 2 Terms through 2012 to begin Fall 2009. College/School/Service Area eligible for nomination are: Arts & Humanities, Craig School of Business, Education & Human Development, Health & Human Services, Library and Student Services Professional-Academically Related. COMMITTEE MEETING TIME IS WEDNESDAY, 3:15 P.M. WEEKLY.</p><p>9) University Board on Promotion - 3 Vacancies 1 Term through 2010 TERM TO BEGIN IMMEDIATELY. 1 Term through 2012 TERM TO BEGIN IMMEDIATELY. 1 Term through 2012 to begin Fall 2009. College/School/Service area eligible for nominations are Tenured Full-Time Faculty from: Arts & Humanities, Craig School of Business, Engineering, Science & Mathematics, Library and Student Services Professionals-Academically Related. BOARD MEETS PRIMARILY SPRING SEMESTER.</p><p>10) University Board on Retention & Tenure – 3 Vacancies 3 Terms through 2012. TERMS TO BEGIN IMMEDIATELY. College/School/Service Area eligible for nominations are Tenured Full-Time Faculty from: Agricultural Sciences & Technology, Arts & Humanities, Education & Human Development, Engineering, Health & Human Services, Social Sciences, Library and Student Services Professionals-Academically Related. BOARD MEETS PRIMARILY SPRING SEMESTER.</p><p>NO MORE THAN ONE FACULTY MEMBER SHALL BE FROM ANY ONE COLLEGE/SCHOOL/SERVICE AREA.</p><p>Interested individuals should contact the Academic Senate Office for eligibility requirements for individual positions.</p><p>PROCEDURES The number of signatures required to put a name in nomination is SIXTEEN (16). A PERSON MAY SIGN ONLY ONE PETITION.</p><p>NOMINATING PETITIONS and STATEMENTS OF ELIGIBILITY are available in the Academic Senate Office, UC #205. The Academic Senate Bylaws state: "Nominating petitions shall be accompanied by a declaration from the nominee that they do and/or agree to meet the eligibility requirements of the office for which they are being nominated and that they will fill the office if elected.” The nominee should forward a short statement of qualifications to accompany the ballot.</p><p>Petitions must be returned to the Academic Senate Office and Statements emailed to sharonh by 4:00 p.m., THURSDAY FEBRUARY 19, 2009. </p>
