<p> What’s Happening at St. P’s Weekly Newsletter of St. Philips Episcopal Church</p><p>Church Office Hours The Church office is open Monday–Thursday from 10am-3pm, ALL office matters will be attended to within those times. The Office Manager will not conduct parish business outside of those times. Notices for the Bulletin Please note that the deadline for all notices for the bulletin is 11:30am on Tuesdays. Notices received after 11:30am will be included in the following Sunday’s bulletin. Notices must be clearly printed and/or typed. Please keep notices & announcements within a twenty word limit. Membership Please call the church office or email stphilipschurch@ optonline.net to add your name to the phone tree, or to add/correct your Birthday on our birthday list. Arrangements: Baptisms, Weddings & Funerals Please be aware that Arrangements for Baptisms, Weddings and Funerals MUST be discussed with the Rector prior to making final arrangements. Please note that Baptisms will be done as designated by the times appointed by the Church which are: Christmas, Easter and Pentecost. To make such arrangements, please call the church office during the business hours of Monday through Thursday, between 10:00am and 3:00pm.</p><p>Advent Bible Study The title of this year’s Advent Bible Study is “Jesus Christ – Liberator or Imitator”. The study will examine the social and political context that that created the environment for a ‘messiah’, and the expectations of the Hebrew people of God as they yearn for this ‘messiah’. It will also look at the notion of ‘messiah’ then and now, and explore the question of how this unlikely son of a carpenter father and a field laborer mother came to be revered as “The Messiah”. The study will be done in four Friday sessions (Nov. 20th, Dec. 4th, 11th, & 18th) beginning at 6:30 PM. Handouts will be made available before each session. Weekly Senior Day Last Thursday was filled with fun and fellowship as St. P’s kicked off its weekly “Senior Day.” All senior’s & retirees are invited to join us every Thursday from 10:30 -2:30pm to play games, cards and fellowship. Please bring your own lunch and beverages. Annual Parish Reports Please be reminded that our Annual Parish Meeting is scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 30 th, 2015, immediately following the 10:45 AM Mass. It is therefore necessary to have all of the reports from the various groups, organizations and committees submitted to the Parish Secretary no later than Sunday, January 9th. This will enable us to put them into booklet form and make them available to all parishioners by Sunday, January 20th, the week preceding the meeting. Annual Parish Elections Please be advised that our Annual Parish Elections will be held on Sunday, Nov. 29th, the first Sunday in Advent. Those eligible to vote may new so following both the 8:00am & 10:45am services.</p><p>Christian Education Corner Christian Ed Hour is from 9:30 am to 10:30 am, and resumes next Sunday.
