<p> ABERDEEN SCRABBLE TOURNAMENT 2008</p><p>Date: Saturday April 19th 2008. Registration from 9.45 am. First game begins 10.30 am sharp. Finish by 6.15 pm at the latest. Venue: Marywell Centre, Marywell Street, Aberdeen AB11 6JF. There is no free parking available, but the venue is opposite a multi-storey car park on College Street (currently £6.80 for day) and is five minutes’ walk from the main bus and railway stations. Format: Six games of Scrabble. The tournament is ABSP-rated and is organised under the auspices of Centre Star Scrabble Club. There will be two or three divisions depending on the number of entries: players will be allocated to division by rating. Timers will be used with 25 minutes per player. Cash prizes will be awarded in each division. Cost: £11.50 for ABSP members and £13.50 for non-members. This includes the ABSP rating levy (60p). Deduct 50p if you can bring a timer and are prepared to lend it if necessary. Lunch: You may either bring a packed lunch or you may choose to have the buffet lunch of sandwiches and soup (£4.50). The soup is vegetarian and sandwiches include vegetarian fillings. Tea and coffee are available on arrival. Closing date: 4th April 2008.
