<p>Wellhead Protection – WHPP 918</p><p>Recycling Reference Guide For Homeowners</p><p>Recycle/Reuse to prevent pollution! Prevent pollution by using the three R’s: Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. Homeowners can use the Recycling Drop-off Center to recycle many items. </p><p>Recycling Drop-off Center 595 Hubbards Lane Louisville, KY Open Tues. through Sat., 10 am-5pm</p><p>Items that you can take to the Recycling Drop-off Center:  Paper – White or mixed office paper, computer paper, file folders, manila and regular envelopes, mail items, junk mail, brown paper grocery bags, telephone books, magazines/catalogs. . Food-free pizza boxes, paperboard, cereal, and gift boxes. . Newspapers with slick advertising inserts. . Cardboard  Glass – Food and drink bottles and jars, (clear, brown, green, blue). Remove lids and rinse. Leave labels on.  Metal & Aluminum – Steel ‘tin’ cans, (rinse and put lids inside), empty aerosol cans, (remove plastic lids), clean used aluminum foil, disposable roasting, pie, and cake pans, beverage cans, and clean aluminum food containers, (flatten to save space).  Plastic – Milk containers, bottles and jars marked #1 and #2 at the bottom such as soft drink, laundry and dishwashing detergent, food, and shampoo bottles, (rinse and leave labels on).  Household batteries – AAA, AA, C, & D size batteries  Antifreeze – under 5 gallons  Motor Oil – under 5 gallons  Oil Filters  Automobile batteries</p><p>Items you CAN’T take to the Recycling Drop-off Center:  Paper – bound catalogs over 1 inch thick or glued bindings, plastic or foil-backed paper, soiled or wax-coated cardboard like frozen food boxes and milk/juice cartons, plastic or Styrofoam packing material  Glass – window glass, mirrors, light bulbs, drinking glasses, mugs, oven/cooking glassware, pottery  Metal – pots, pans, coat hangers, or paint cans  Plastic – wide-mouthed bowls like margarine containers, motor oil or antifreeze jugs, plastic bags, or buckets Specialty Recycling Nearly every home has specialty products that can be recycled! Here are some “special” recycling locations that will help you dispose of your potentially hazardous materials.
