<p> Teacher: Marquez Subject: 1st Grade Spanish Week of: 3-09-09</p><p>Day One Objective Students will be able to: Read 10 classroom object words in Spanish in unison Read 10 classroom object words in Spanish individually Demonstrate vocabulary knowledge on Day 2 by reading and identifying a object when prompted in Spanish. NJCCCS 7.1 Key Points Vocabulary from last week La puerta-the door la computadora- the computer el marcador- the marker el escritorio- the desk el cuaderno- the notebook Word of the la mesa Day Opening Buenos Dias Song Engage Explain Happy Face Behavior, the Compliment Chain, and Three Strikes Meet Mr. Hipopotamo- pick a helper to take the Word of the Day out of the Hippo’s mouth</p><p>Guided Who can guess what “la mesa” means?? Give clues: it is something you sit AT but never ON Practice Flashcards: hold up a card for each new word and have the class repeat each in unison. Give Explore clues for each word and ask for volunteers to “translate”.</p><p>Semi- Word Wall: put the flashcards on the word wall one at a time and have the class spell it in Independent unison. Have the class read the word in unison. Have the class translate the word in unison. Ask for any questions or observations that students may have. Guide them to noticing that the Practice letters ll, i, and z all make different sounds in Spanish.
