<p> Information Technology Engineering </p><p>INTERNSHIP INFORMATION</p><p>DATE: From the 16th day of January 2017 to the 15th day of December 2017 </p><p>AREA WITHIN THE COMPANY THE STUDENT WILL PERFORM HIS INTERNSHIP: Process Center of Excellence / Innovation</p><p>NAME OF THE PROJECT: Supporting the Innovation Initiatives of CEMEX</p><p>ACTIVITIES/ PROYECT TO BE DEVELOPED: As a strategy to promote global collaboration, CEMEX has integrated a series of initiatives that cover topics of high interest and global impact for the company. These initiatives have been structured under the concept of horizontal collaboration and influence of social network mechanisms. The various initiatives have been evolving during the past two years and the creation of mechanisms, as well as the uses of the collaboration platform have initiated a process by which a new working culture has been generated within the company. In this regard the Innovation teams that are in charge of mobilizing these various initiatives have the responsibility of maturing, documenting the best practices of global collaboration and replicating these best practices in new working groups. </p><p>Most of the support given to these initiatives has to address a variety of groups with different technology skills, resources and needs. This requires a full analysis and research of the right technological resources, as well as the good coordination with other CEMEX teams for a successful service or product delivery. Part of the strategy of CEMEX and the global initiatives is to share the knowledge that is being created. Thus, organizing webcasts, webinar and video conferences, where relevant information is shared across CEMEX operations is now a frequent practice among these groups. However, these events require a complex organization and planning, as well as a communication strategy to get a good participation rate. It is also important to be able to record the actions taken and share them within the network. </p><p>In general, the work to be performed is to support the teams that are in charge of mobilizing the various global initiatives under the concept of horizontal collaboration and the initial assignment will be dealing with the challenge of the development of the initiative that handles the promotion of special Concrete products, within the previously described objectives.</p><p>This Internship position is more oriented to support in CEMEX’s business and sales analysis of Ready Mix products. Often, the student will be included in high impact meetings to be introduced to upcoming initiatives. It is important that this student has a quick understanding of the businesses nature, so their contribution to projects and initiatives is of higher value. The student will be responsible for downloading raw data from Business Intelligence tools and creating a Database for historical sales of 30+ countries. CEMEX colleagues from around the globe will contact the student, and his/her team, to ask for the database or a quick analysis, in order to improve their local performance.</p><p>The student will also be creating monthly and quarterly reports regarding Sales Performance, and will be working on projects regarding automated reports. Finally, the student will work as a content manager for CEMEX’s collaboration platforms and internal websites. </p>
