<p>Project #4 Photorealism album cover Submitted by: B. Gordon, Germantown Middle School</p><p>• Students will be introduced to the following definitions and how they apply to visual works of art. Students will discuss works by Chuck Close using these definitions and create an “album cover” in the photorealist style.</p><p>1. Photorealism 2. Balance 3. Proportion 4. Variety 5. Emphasis 6. Unity</p><p>Students will bring an10x8 photocopy of a photo of themselves from home. I will give a demonstration of how to grid the photo off into equal squares in the style of Chuck Close. Students will then grid off a larger sheet of drawing paper into a larger scale version of the photo grid. I will give a demonstration on how to draw using this grid method. We will discuss the works of Chuck Close and photorealism. We will also discuss and observe various album artworks and how they apply to various movements in the arts and history. The students will create a photorealistic drawing of themselves using this grid system. Students will then use this drawing and create the cover of their “album”. Students will be encouraged to look at trends in music and pop culture to influence the musical style of their album.</p><p>Rubric</p><p>1. Drawing created using a grid system 2.
