As the commenter pointed out, the meanings of Nu, NSTS, and Nss are different for pre- VHT modulated fields and VHT modulated fields. The definitions of Nu, NSTS, and Nss need to be clarified. Also, the definitions should be consistent in subclause 22.3.6 and subclause 22.3.7.</p><p>Editing Instructions</p><p>22. For VHT modulated fields, NSTS,u is the number of space-time streams for user u, u=0,1,2,3.</p><p>For SU packets, NSTS = NSTS,0. Note that NSTS,total = NSTS for SU packets.</p><p>NOTE1-- pre-VHT modulated fields refer to the L-STF, L-LTF, L-SIG and VHT-SIG-A fields, while VHT modulated fields refer to the VHT-STF, VHT-LTF, VHT-SIG-B and Data fields NOTE2--For pre-VHT modulated fields, u is 0 only since Nu=1 </p><p>22.3.7 Mathematical description of signals</p><p>Editor: Please make the following change in notations below equation (22-19):</p><p>Nu For pre-VHT modulated fields, Nu=1. For VHT modulated fields, Nu represents the number of users in the transmission (equal to the TXVECTOR parameter NUM_USERS). , and u is the user index starting at 0. </p><p>Nu=1 for pre-VHT modulated fields for both SU and MU transmissions and for VHT modulated fields in SU transmissions. For MU transmissions, the VHT shall have 2≤Nu≤4 depending on the number of users in the transmission.</p><p>NSTS,u For pre-VHT modulated fields, NSTS,u=1.
