<p> HAMLET PAPER AND PROJECT PAPER Turn it in Regular rules write them out  Hamlet's flaw is that he fails to act on instinct - he thinks too much.  Write an essay defending or refuting the following statement. Why is Hamlet so interested in the players?  Is the ghost real in the visit Hamlet in his mothers room? -- what difference does it make?  appearance vs. reality  the importance of the play-within-the-play  the theme of corruption  Hamlet's relationship to Ophelia  Hamlet's conflict with philosophy/Church and his need for vengeance  What self-knowledge does Hamlet come to?  What impact does the frame plot have? That is, Fortinbras appearing at the first of the play and then at the end?</p><p>PROJECT The project portion of Hamlet will contain two possible options. You can choose to get no greater than a B with the B option or you can choose to have no greater than an A with the A option. Your choice will not guarantee you of the grade you choose. You still must present mastery of the scene. You and a possible group are choosing a scene and re-writing it. B OPTION.  2 in group.  Choose a scene. Scene must be an important scene and longer than a few pages. Scene must be approved and can be duplicated through class.  Write a few well developed paragraphs showing your understanding of the scene and its importance to the play, plot, and themes.  Write a script placing the language into modern day.  All of the players from the play must also be present in the new version.  Keep the meanings and the focus  Script must be TYPED  Any scene direction or description must be included A OPTION A option is B option with the following adjustments  2 or maybe three in group if you can logically defend your proposal.  Present your scene o In class o Movie o Puppets o Puppet movie o Playdough movie o Photo montage movie with spoken word dialogue o Documentary with spoken work dialogue using pictures to represent old history o Options are endless creativity is rewarded  If you are a bad actor or uncomfortable in the “stage atmosphere” choose just a speaking option.</p>
