<p> SCHOOL TOWN OF HIGHLAND ELEMENTARY CLINICAL HEALTH AIDE</p><p>PERFORMANCE GOAL: A carefully selected individual who is trained to perform many of the routine and technical tasks related to the school health service and maintain and operate the school’s library and media services.</p><p>REPORTS TO: Building Principal and School Nurse</p><p>WORK DAYS: 194 DAYS</p><p>DAILY HOURS: 8:30 A.M. TO 2:30 P.M. </p><p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p><p>• High school graduate or equivalent • Demonstrated clerical skills in recording, filing, and digital literacy • Good health, emotional maturity, ability to get along with people, respect for confidential material and enjoys working with children • Be willing to secure a current Red Cross First Aid Certificate, CPR Training and training in selected technical skills under the supervision of the school nurse • Someone who works well with people - both students and teachers. Pleasant, yet firm, fair, and consistent in following guidelines when dealing with student, helpful to teachers. </p><p>CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS</p><p>• Licensed CNA preferred</p><p>RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:</p><p>• Maintains sound working relationship with students, school personnel and the community • Gives first aid and emergency care as outlined by the Red Cross • Maintains records pertaining to students seen in the Health Office • Maintains regulations for children taking medication at school and dispenses said medication as directed by the school nurse • Assist the school nurse by:</p><p> o Verifying cases of communicable disease o Reporting head lice and other infestations o Participating in kindergarten registration o Participating in screening programs such as vision, hearing, scoliosis, etc.</p><p>• Makes appropriate referrals to the school nurse for more seriously ill or injured students</p><p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p><p>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear; stand walk, and sit; use hands to finger; handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and taste or smell.</p><p>The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.</p><p>WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
