<p> RESOLUTION NO. 2008-16</p><p>WHEREAS, the general election for the City of Brundidge, Alabama was duly and legally held on August 26, 2008 as provided by law, and </p><p>WHEREAS, the municipal governing body of the City of Brundidge, Alabama met on this 2nd day of September, 2008, all members thereof being present at 9:00 o’clock a.m., and has canvassed the returns, and has ascertained and determined the number of votes received by each candidate, and </p><p>WHEREAS, the Council has ascertained and determined the result of said election as follows:</p><p>MAYOR</p><p>James T. Ramage, III 573 Herbert Reynolds 336</p><p>COUNCIL – DISTRICT NO. 1</p><p>Betty Baxter 81 Lawrence Bowden 112 </p><p>COUNCIL – DISTRICT NO. 2</p><p>Stacy Flournoy 74 Arthur Griffin 130</p><p>COUNCIL DISTRICT NO. 5</p><p>Isabell Lee “Fronnie” Boyd 81 Stephen (Nuco) Coleman 81</p><p>NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brundidge, Alabama, as follows:</p><p>1. That James T. Ramage, III received a majority of the votes cast for the office of Mayor and is hereby declared duly elected to that office for the term beginning on the first Monday in November, 2008.</p><p>2. That Lawrence Bowden received a majority of the votes cast for the office of Council member District No. 1 and is hereby declared duly elected to that office for the term beginning on the first Monday in November 2008. 3. That Arthur Griffin received a majority of the votes cast for the office of Council member District No. 2 and is hereby declared duly elected to that office for the term beginning on the first Monday in November 2008.</p><p>4. That no candidate received a majority of the votes cast for the office of Council District No. 5, and that Isabell Lee “Fronnie” Boyd and Steven (Nuco) Coleman received the same amount of votes cast for that office, therefore, a runoff election between said candidates is hereby ordered to be held on Tuesday, October 7th, 2008 pursuant to the requirements of Section 11-46-20 et seq., of the Alabama Code of 1975, as amended.</p><p>ADOPTED THIS 2nd DAY OF September, 2008.</p><p>______James T. Ramage, III was duly elected to the office of Mayor of the City of Brundidge, Alabama, for the term commencing on the first Monday of November 2008.</p><p>Given under our hands pursuant to the requirements of Sections 11-46-20 et seq. of the Alabama Code of 1975, as amended, this 2nd day of September, 2008.</p><p>______James.
