<p>POSITION Human Resources Generalist</p><p>LOCATION Brampton</p><p>NATURE </p><p>Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, the Human Resources Generalist provides human resources support for manufacturing facilities and is a key contributor to the Human Resources team for the Central Region of Armtec.</p><p>SCOPE </p><p>This position provides ongoing advice and support to management and employees of the assigned manufacturing facilities, ensures the delivery of Human Resource services relating to policies and procedures, group benefit and RRSP administration, employee and labour relations, recruitment, WSIB claims management, and training. The incumbent will be the first point of contact for leaders and employees on HR- related matters within the assigned facilities of Central Region. This position plays an integral part in departmental and interdepartmental projects.</p><p>PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES </p><p>Manage multiple programs including group benefit and RRSP administration, WSIB claims management and adjudication, disability management, accident and incident Investigation, employee communications and general employee relations. </p><p>In collaboration with managers, coordinate local recruitment and selection processes including updating position descriptions, preparing postings and advertisements, screening resumes, participating on interview panels, conducting reference checks and making verbal and written job offers.</p><p>Manage WSIB claims, working with managers, employees and WSIB adjudicators to ensure safe and early return to work. Attend WSIB hearings and appeals as required.</p><p>Assist with the administration of the Disability Management program, including follow up with managers, employees and third party providers on any concerns/issues as a result of illness and accommodation, and support return to work plans.</p><p>Provide guidance and support on all HR Policies and Procedures. Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations to ensure compliance.</p><p>Support and promote corporate and regional objectives and programs and act as a resource to leaders and employees. </p><p>Assist with the preparation of training and presentation materials related to HR. May be required to assist with the delivery of training programs. Coordinate and/or schedule all aspects of training delivery, in conjunction with internal or external resources. Maintain training and certification records. May assist with the development and implementation of Health and Safety initiatives.</p><p>Assist managers and supervisors in the interpretation of the Collective Agreements to ensure adherence. Handles grievances and participates in negotiations. Liaise with payroll for compensation and benefits to ensure required documentation is completed.</p><p>Respond to questions related to group benefit and RRSP programs and resolve related problems.</p><p>Plan and conduct employee orientation program to promote positive attitude toward company goals and culture.</p><p>Provide support to managers to ensure performance management objectives are set and program timelines are met.</p><p>Assist leaders in employee terminations and ensure completion of documents for employee file.</p><p>May be required to perform other related duties from time to time.</p><p>PRIMARY INTERACTIONS</p><p>Interacts daily with leaders and employees Collaborates with the Director, Human Resources, other HR Generalists and Corporate Human Resources staff</p><p>EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE</p><p>A Certificate in Human Resources Management and/or Business Administration Minimum of three (3) years’ experience working in a unionized manufacturing environment Expert knowledge in all relevant employment legislation is required Advanced computer skills including MS Office are required and experience working with Ceridian is considered an asset. </p><p>COMPETENCIES and ABILITIES</p><p>Client Orientation Change Leadership Effective Interactive Communication Decisiveness Relationship Building Self-confidence Courage of Conviction</p><p>WORKING CONDITIONS</p><p>Physical Effort – Much of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position with the frequent opportunity to move about. Walking though and occasionally working in manufacturing facility</p><p>Physical Environment – Located in a comfortable indoor area. Frequent visits within the manufacturing plant with exposure to dirty, noisy and not uniformly heated environment. </p><p>Sensory Attention – Regular need to give attention, seeing and hearing, to the subtleties of what is happening within the environment. </p>
