<p> Rhetorical Analysis of “Resume”</p><p>This was a practice resume that involved actually finding a real job ad and going through the entire process. It was a very practical assignment that involved moving through steps you would need to accomplish before landing a job. The resume was for a grade, but can be used as a reference when applying for work in the real world. </p><p>Audience− This is intended for future employment, so the audience will be management, coworker, and human resource personnel. The subject of the resume is directed towards them to show pass experience, awards, and contact information. </p><p>Verbal Content − The language used in the resume is short, expressive, and to the point. This is for the employer to be able to quickly skim the contents, and have a clear understanding of what they’re reading. For describing tasks done at previous jobs a verb was used at the beginning of each statement. This gives a quick sense of the work you have done.</p><p>Design− For my resume I used a specific format that can easily distinguish all my qualities by a quick glance. By having headers in bold for each subject such as work experience. Below the headers are subheadings in bold but a lower font. This is done to direct the eyes from eye point to another. Material that is provided in a list format is indented from the rest of the wording. This shows quick points to follow under the subheadings. A sans-serif font was intentionally used so the paper doesn’t have a crowded look. </p><p>Technological Expertise − For the format of the resume basic word processing skills were acquired, simple tasks of changing fonts size, bolding, and underlining. Also, having knowledge to insert special characters for the bullet points used at the top of the page. </p><p>Overall −This was a great assignment that applies particular skills that can be directly used when out of the classroom. My resume had both strong and weaker points that need improvement. The great aspect is I can keep improving before turning it into a job, when it is imperative that it reaches perfection. The area that I would improve on is stronger word choice for describing tasks carried out during pervious jobs. </p>
