This is a cement structure buried below ground surface, which the flows enter from the Gravity collection system from the Pickle Lake collection system area. 2. The Inlet Invert comes from the manhole above on the side of Koval Street. 3. There is a Bar Screen below the Invert which catches rags and large debris during the 24/7 operation period. 4. There are two vent stacks located on top of the wet well for ventilation when required. 5. There is a walkway in the wet well that was installed so easy cleaning of the bar screens. 6. There are floats installed to control the operation of the pumps and also supply low and high level alarms.

Operational Checks and Tests: Check Chamber weekly to make sure all is working as designed. Clean Bar screens weekly on Friday of each week to ensure the invert has a free flow into the lift station. Clean the walk way when in the wet well and keep it always clean. Check the floats and clean makes sure all grease build up is removed from them also. You can test the high level alarm and the alrm system by lifting the float and setting off the alarm. To re-set the alarm set float back into normal position then re-set the alarm system each week when inside the wet well..

Process Description Dry Well Chamber inside the building:

1. This has a two pump system and there is also a sump pump installed at the bottom of the chamber. 2. .Heaters and lights for the building are also installed inside the Dry Well..

Operational Checks and Tests: Check pumps monthly and do your maintenance required on the pumps. Check for leaks and repair as required. Make sure the sump pump is operational and working at all times. Check the heater and lights they must be operational in the dry well. Make sure hatch is closed when all work has been completed.

The Township of Pickle Lake; Revision: 1; Issued: April 5, 2017; Page: 2 of 5 Main Lift Station Koval Street Operational Manual

Process Description Main Lift Station Building:

1. This has all the electrical equipment required for the wet well lift station outside, the pump panel is mounted on the left side wall. 2. The main disconnect or breaker on the outside of the Main Lift Station Building. 3. Storage for safety equipment and confined space entry equipment, fire extinguishers and emergency lighting systems. 4. Heaters and lights for the building are also installed inside the Station.

Operational Checks and Tests: Check pump readings daily and add them together so you have total hours on the pumps for each day, record on lift station rounds sheet. Makes sure pumps are operational and that they are available when required. Test the alarm system weekly on Friday to ensure if failure occurs an alarm will happen. Check wet well daily and record on rounds sheet. Check cleanliness of building clean if required and record on log sheet. Keep the SDS information system updated at all times information must be current no older than 3 years, it also must cover all chemicals and fuels used on site at that location.

Process Description Main Diesel Generator Building:

1. There is a small diesel generator system onsite which is used during power outages at this location. 2. This unit needs to be kept operational at all times, fix or repair as soon as possible, keep spare parts available at all times if possible. 3. Operate this unit at least once a month run for an estimated two hours and record all required information on diesel generator log sheet.

Operational Checks and Tests: Check oil, antifreeze, battery and governor settings before operating. Run Monthly for two hours and record operating readings for Temperatures, oil pressures, volts, amps, and run times, and record on diesel generator log sheets. Check vents open when running the unit and close when the unit is shut off. Check fuel levels and fill when required, never run it low, always keep it ready for in needed.

The Township of Pickle Lake; Revision: 1; Issued: April 5, 2017; Page: 3 of 5 Main Lift Station Koval Street Operational Manual

Main Lift Station

Generator Starting Procedures:

1. The Hydro service disconnect is outside building lock it in the off Position. 2. Main transformers disconnect inside the generator building, turn it to the Generator position. 3. Switch sewage pump 1 (off) Position. Pump 2 turn to the Hand position as it (has soft start installed.) in the Main Lift Station Building. 4. Open all vents so the generator does not over heat, in the generator building. 5. Check oil and coolant level prior to starting the unit, fill where required. 6. Confirm power supply switch is in the (off) position on right side of generator. 7. Turn starter switch to manual Position and the generator should start and run. 8. Allow warming up/ stable readings, before turning the (Power supply Switch) on the right hand side of the generator to the (On) position. 9. Turn (On) the power supply switch right side of generator, this should be feeding power to the Main Lift Station, check and make sure the pump # 2 is on Hand and running, before leaving the site. 10. Monitor the generator system when running, make sure all is operating and that the Number 2 lift station pump is running.

The Township of Pickle Lake; Revision: 1; Issued: April 5, 2017; Page: 4 of 5 Main Lift Station Koval Street Operational Manual

Main Lift Station

Generator Shut Down Procedures:

1. Turn off power supply switch right side of generator; this will stop power feed to the lift station. 2. Return building to Utility power from Generator power inside the generator building. 3. Go outside and unlock the Main Disconnect from the Hydro system and turn it on, make sure you again lock disconnect in the on position. 4. Place sewage Lift Station pump #1 back to auto Position on the panel, in the Main Lift Station Building. 5. Place sewage Lift Station pump #2 back to auto Position on the panel, in the Main Lift Station Building. 6. Go back to the generator room and turn the starter switch back to off position; this should shut the diesel Generator down. 7. Check the level in the fuel tank of the Generator, fill when necessary. 8. Put the vent covers back in place and ensure heaters are working. 9. Then secure building and lock the door before leaving.

The Township of Pickle Lake; Revision: 1; Issued: April 5, 2017; Page: 5 of 5
