The exhibition, with support from Arts and Business, has provided an inspirational focus for partnership between Ricky Romain’s artistic practice and: Human Rights organisations- Tooks Chambers, Amnesty International, Bail for Immigration Detainees [BID]; Higher Education initiatives in the arts and cultural and economic development- Dartington Creative Enterprise; Publishing on organisational process- Triarchy Press. Key emerging questions to be addressed include:  What is the role of the artist’s vision within political activism, organisations, and businesses? Is ‘aesthetic leadership’ a useful concept?  What are the opportunities and risks for the artist and for the organisations in- volved?  Does artistic practice essentially involve ‘gift’ relationships, and what happens when it encounters institutional agendas and the market? How does documenta- tion and publicity mediate the process?  How has the project enhanced understanding of the individual and group dynam- ics involved in alienation, integration, marginalisation and persecution? Do the arts have a distinctive role to play?  What has been the impact of the project on all the partners so far, and how can such complex partnership relationships best be managed?  What practical outcomes have been achieved? Are ongoing collaborations envis- aged?</p><p>This seminar is the last in a series of events, hosted at Tooks Chambers by Amnesty, BID, and Triarchy Press in conjunction with the exhibition. Triarchy Press is planning a research publication as part of this ongoing project.
