Call to Order Marty began the meeting at 7:05.</p><p>2. Welcome and Introductions</p><p>3. Approval of Agenda and Previous Meeting’s Minutes Trish moved to propose a change to item 8d in the February 14th minutes. Pam seconded. The motion carried with an aye vote.</p><p>4. Neighborhood Based Service Delivery Ed reported on the following items, including a report from Deb Richardson in her absence: Workers at the Great Clips and who park by Irene’s have called to report being approached by men in the neighborhood asking for money. Deb recognized them by description. Kum n Go on 22nd Street has a new manager. Having an off-duty policy officer on-site has decreased the amount of inappropriate activity, so the manager is letting the officer go and getting private security. There was discussion that this would result in activity picking up again. A lot of parking tickets issued in February because of snow. The city is going to offer an education night for NBSD neighborhood citizens on public nuisance properties and the process for assign the status. Increased police presence at Platinum Cuts is a result of police watching the location for a long time and stepping up presence.</p><p>5. Treasurer’s report Trish provided the balance for the checking account, detail on outstanding checks, and balance on Money Market account. Insurance on lots sold needs to be dropped. There was discussion on plans for vacant lot still owned. Budgets o By next meeting, Trish will have forecast on budgets for 2007 o Provided summary of 2006 budgets to actual. All budgets came in under. Quarterly meetings. Trish moved to approve a budget of $150 per quarterly meeting or $600 for the year. Jennifer seconded. Motion passed with an aye vote. Calendar of Events. In the off months of the newsletter, there would be a one page mailing newsletter communicating calendar events. Trish moved to approve a budget of $200 for each calendar mailing or $1200 for the year. Kevin seconded. Motion passed with aye vote. Member contact. There was discussion on the ability to send out group phone calls and group e- mails. There are problems with people entering their e-mail on the website as it results in an excessive amount of spam. There was discussion on how to get updates on people’s contact information. Yard Signs. Marty had sample signs made up announcing member meetings. It was suggested to put them up in the neighborhood for the week of the meeting. Jennifer volunteered to work on design of the sign. David moved to allocate up to $500 for 50 yard signs. Deb seconded. Motion passed with an aye vote. Parade. Trish moved to approve a budget of $300 for this year’s parade on April 21st. Jennifer seconded. Motion passed with an aye vote. National Night Out. Trish moved to approve a budget of $675 for National Night out on August 7th. Budget will be for banners, prizes, pool and shelter, food, and mailings. Bonnie seconded. Committee/board can still work on getting donations to reduce costs. Motion passed with aye vote and one nay vote.</p><p>6. Committee Reports a. Drake University Security office to be torn down Marty received a call on proposed parking lot Dave gave a report on the Thresholds festival. Trish recommended that on future mass mailings to the neighborhood not handled by DNA that the DNA provide address listing even if it means people will get two copies. b. Drake Business Association Jennifer reported on plans for the Dog Town festival to be held on September 29th c. Civic Affairs – no report d. Volunteer/Scheduling Mars Café event on March 15. Board members attending need to work on membership for committees. Trish will bring the appropriate sign up sheets. Any event dates need for the first calendar mailing need to get to Bonnie by March10th. e. Membership Dues go to Denise first through the PO Box f. Communications/Newsletter schedule – see above g. Beautification Spring annual planting – Deadline for orders will be April 15th. Kevin is handling the order. SCRUB still tentatively scheduled for April 7th h. Special Events Mars Café event on 3/15 Next Association meeting – Gardening presentation, Thursday April 26th, Cottage Grove Presbyterian Drake Relays Parade – see prior discussion Water station, Saturday April 28th – volunteers needed at 32nd/33rd and Kingman i. House Tour Kevin spoke with At Home magazine. There will be an article the week of event. Will also be mentioned on the TV show and radio show. Volunteers still needed for the house tour on 6/2 and 6/3.</p><p>7. Announcements - none</p><p>8. Adjourn – Marty adjourned the meeting at 8:40.</p>
