<p> Accessing remote.eos.ncsu.edu with GUI from a EOS Vista PC</p><p>1. Open PuTTy from the Start->Programs menu:</p><p>2. X-Win32 will automatically load concurrently with PuTTy: 3. Once the PuTTy window has loaded, under ‘Saved Sessions’ select EOS and click load:</p><p>4. Click ‘Open’ in the lower right corner of the window to launch the terminal. You will then be presented with a login prompt. Enter your NCSU Unity ID and password. 5. You’re all set to use the terminal window and launch GUI based applications! Accessing a Linux VCL machine (with X11 GUI) on an EOS Lab PC. </p><p>1. Visit vcl.ncsu.edu and create a reservation for the system you wish to use.</p><p>2. Once you have the reservation, click ‘Connect!’</p><p>3. You will be given the necessary information to log in once the connection has been established:\</p><p>4. Open PuTTy from Start->Programs:</p><p>5. Once PuTTy has loaded, select VCL from the ‘Saved Sessions’ box and click ‘Load’: 6. Now enter the correct VCL IP Address as indicated below by the red line:</p><p>7. Click ‘Open’ in PuTTy. You will be prompted with a Security Alert, click ‘Yes’</p><p>8. You will be prompted with a “login as:” request at the terminal window. Use the log in credentials provided on the VCL page (below the IP address). </p><p>9. You’re ready to use the machine!</p>
