Code 300- 2- 1-09 CROSS REFERENCE:</p><p>Subject to the support and approval of the Board of Trustees of the Alabama Community College System, the Chancellor may cause two or more institutions within the Alabama Community College System to consolidate or merge for the purpose of forming and promoting a more efficient and comprehensive community college system. In the event that the Chancellor recommends the consolidation or merger of two or more institutions within the Alabama Community College System, the Chancellor shall provide documentation that such mergers or consolidations are educationally and economically beneficial. The Chancellor shall further comply with all rules and policies related to consolidations and/or mergers of the Alabama Commission on Higher Education and all applicable accreditation entities.</p>
