How do you decide?  New technology to allow quick and cost effective reactivation.  Cost and efficiency of each solution.  The role of classification and verification authorities. Defining the correct (minimum) classification of refurbished equipment.  The impact of and aligning company and industry standards. Managing risk to P&A ALARP.  Rig contractor views on well abandonment with rigs designed for drilling.  Who manages the reactivation process and who is best placed to do it?  How lessons are learnt and shared; how do you stand on the shoulders of these who have gone before?  Swarf handling, rig mods and reduced equipment specifications.  Impact of the loss of knowledge and skills in well operations.  Reactivation examples from outside wells industry e.g. gas storage or steel industry.

Case studies are particularly welcome.

Presentations only will be required for this event – not full SPE papers.

Please submit your abstract to:

Diane Wood [email protected]

Society of Petroleum Engineers Aberdeen Section www.spe-uk.org
