Sc) he became a staff member at University of Nigeria, Nsukka where he was promoted to Lecturer I in 2014. At the University of Nigeria he became involved in teaching of B. Pharm, M. Sc and M. Pharm program of the Department of Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry. My research focuses on the isolation and characterization of bioactive secondary metabolites from Nigerian medicinal plants and their bioassay (antioxidant, antiviral, anticancer and anti-inflammatory) studies. This is with a view to developing 'lead' molecules that can be used for diseases caused by oxidative stress. Dr. Agbo is an active researcher with Research Gate point of 9.36 and h-index of 3.0. He is a member of the Society for Medicinal Plant and Natural Product Research (GA) and an award winner of GA Travel Grants for PhD‐students 2013 </p><p>Area of Specialization:</p><p>My research background is in natural products chemistry and my primary research interests focus on the isolation and purification of new bioactive secondary metabolites, from plants, using the combination of different chromatographic techniques and elucidation of their structures using contemporary 1D and 2D nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopic and mass spectrometric methods.
