The Bible teaches that there is always a danger of a man’s desire outstripping his acquisitions. The soul of a man who lacks nothing, his heart is never satisfied. ______</p><p>. The Word of God makes plain that the poor man who is wise lives a far better life than the fool. ______.</p><p>THE RELEVANT QUESTION > “Why we cannot get any satisfaction?” 1 – Our ______Can’t Bring ______. 2 – Our ______Can’t Bring ______. 3 – Our ______Can’t Bring ______. 1 1 – OUR ______CAN’T BRING ______v7 > “All the labor of man is for his mouth, and yet the appetite is not filled.” </p><p>. Solomon tells us that work is about food for the stomach thru the mouth, yet that work does not fulfill the appetite. ______.</p><p>. The rich man can let his money work for him, but the poor man has to use his muscles if he and his family are going to eat. ______.</p><p>. What good is it to add years to your life if you don’t add life to your years? ______.</p><p>. Solomon is not suggesting that it is wrong either to work or to eat. Many people enjoy doing both. ______.</p><p>. Self-preservation may be the first law of nature, but we who are made in the image of God must live for something higher. ______. </p><p>. As new creation in Christ, self-preservation may well be the first law of death that in Mark 8:35 states > “Whosoever will save his life shall lost it.” ______. </p><p>. First, make sure your work satisfies your spiritual needs, and secondly, provides for your physical well-being. ______.</p><p>2 2 – OUR ______CAN’T BRING ______v8 > “For what hath the wise more than the fool? What hath the poor, that knoweth to walk before the living?”</p><p>. If all you do is live to satisfy your appetite, then the wise man has no advantage over the fool. Nor does the poor man have any advantage trying to better his situation and learning to get along with the rich. ______.</p><p>. The Bible warns about those who think they are wise but are really fools. ______.</p><p>. Solomon argues that wisdom is always an advantage that it is as different from folly as light is from darkness. ______.</p><p>. Solomon’s point is that whether a person is wise or foolish, satisfying natural appetites is impossible because they regularly need feeding. </p><p>______</p><p>3 3 – OUR ______CAN’T BRING ______v > “Better is the sight of the eyes than the wandering of the desire: this is also vanity and vexation of spirit.”</p><p>. Solomon is saying, what the eyes see (enjoying what is at hand) is better than (craving) what the soul desires. ______.</p><p>. Solomon is telling us to make the best of our existing circumstances; to enjoy our present conditions; to control our roaming fancies and our out of control passions; and to reign in our roving desires. ______. </p><p>. The reality is to learn how to serve others and not self-promotion; to discover how to enjoy what you have and not delayed satisfaction, and to be content and satisfied right now. ______</p><p>. Our relationships become authentic; our fellowship becomes friendships; and our stewardship becomes faithful. </p><p>. True satisfaction comes when we do the will of God from the heart. ______. </p><p>4</p>
