<p>BELMONT ARTS CENTRE</p><p>FREELANCE MARKETING OFFICER Belmont Arts Centre is situated in Shrewsbury town centre and offers a programme consisting of centre-based and outreach activities for children, young people and artists. It is the base for two major regional projects: New Roots, the Youth Music Action Zone for Herefordshire, Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin and aliss, the Artists & Learning Information & Support Service for the West Midlands. The centre is a company limited by guarantee (company no. 05280336), with charitable status (Charity number. 1108488) The Marketing Officer will be responsible to the Director, Belmont Arts Centre Responsibilities We need you to publicise and market the events, courses and programmes run by and at the centre. In particular there are new initiatives that we need to advertise in an effective manner to partners, clients and potential participants, locally and across the region: Changing Tracks: our new project aimed at young people at risk of alcohol misuse. Hyperlink: a technology project aimed at young people with an interest and initiative to exploit the free software and facilities available in mobile phones, ipods, PCs and other mobile technology. New Roots: The Youth Music Action Zone for Shropshire, Hereford and Telford & Wrekin; especially working with young people in At Risk categories. Moviedrome and Guitar workshops: After school activities fro young people aged 14+. Curriculum enhancement: Facilities that schools can use that are not normally available in house. Person specification The person appointed will have:  a good general education to GCSE level  experience of marketing to a wide audience, preferably in an arts or leisure area.  good organisational skills Conditions of service This is a fixed-term, freelance position. We will expect you to be available one day per week for a period of three months, but details and fee will be negotiable. Application Application should be made on the form provided.
