Context for the Integrated Performance Assessment: A group of students from Colombia is coming to spend three weeks in your school. They want to know where to shop and what to buy in your community so that they can buy gifts for their friends and family. </p><p>Interpretive Task: Read the Lectura: ¡De compras! on pages 364–365 of Realidades 1 to see how the shops and shopping areas of four cities are described. As you read, think about the shops and shopping areas in your community. Write down the names of four shops in your community and a brief description of what each shop sells.</p><p>Interpersonal Task: Discuss your ideas about the shops and what they sell with your partner. Working together, select three shops that you think the students from Colombia would like.</p><p>Presentational Task: Send an e-mail to one of the students from Colombia describing the three shops that you and your partner selected.
