<p> NATIONAL NAVAL OFFICERS ASSOCIATION (NNOA) CAMP PENDLETON/MIRAMAR CHAPTER 2017 SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA</p><p>Deadline: 15 APRIL 2017 “The basic requirement for the award is enrollment in a four (4) year accredited College or University. Your application must be fully completed. You must meet the deadline for submission. This NNOA Scholarship is based on need and merit. "</p><p>Application Eligibility & Submission Requirements</p><p>Eligibility Criteria  2017 graduating senior at a San Diego, Riverside or Orange County High School that supports military School Liaisons  Minimum accumulative grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale  Accepted at an accredited, four (4) year college or university and registered for the 2017 fall semester (must have applied upon submission of application) </p><p>Selection Considerations  Academic Record and Class Standing  Extra-Curricular Activities  Honors and Awards  Employment / Internship  Community Service / Volunteer Service / Letters of Recommendation  Quality of written statements and essays  50% of the total applicants selected will be Military Dependents of Enlisted Marines or Sailors. Dependent status validation method is Defense Eligibility Enrollment System (DEERS) enrollment (applicable to Military Dependents only)</p><p>Application Packet Elements</p><p>□ Completed Scholarship Application Form The application is designed to collect academic and personal background information for the scholarship review committee. NO PERSONAL INTERVIEWS WILL TAKE PLACE! Responses to the application questions will be a decisive factor in the selection process. All questions and essays must be answered thoroughly and truthfully. Failure to answer all questions and essays honestly and thoroughly will be cause for rejection. Incomplete application forms/packets will NOT be considered.</p><p>□ Essay The application contains an essay section. There is one (1) essay topic/question with multiple parts. All parts are required to be answered for scholarship consideration. The essay must:  Contain between 500 - 1000 words.  Be typed, using either Courier New or Times New Roman font with a font size of 12.  Use single spaced lines.</p><p>□ Proof of College Acceptance/Application A letter of acceptance or proof the scholarship applicant has applied to a college or university must be mailed with the scholarship application. In order to receive payment of the scholarship awarded, recipients must show proof of academic enrollment at an accredited, four (4) year college or university for the 2017 fall semester. </p><p>□ Official Transcripts An official transcript of grades must be mailed with the scholarship application. Separate validation of extracurricular activities is required, if not addressed on the official transcript. Transcript must have an embossed raised school seal or other authorized school stamp/mark to be considered “official”. </p><p>□ Two Letters of Recommendation Include two (2) Letters of Recommendation from persons other than a family member on their stationary with a letterhead.</p><p>Scholarship Application Deadline Scholarship applications MUST be postmarked by 15 APRIL 2017!
