<p> Mutt Lynch Winery “Out of Reach” 2009 “Muttitage”</p><p>VINEYARD: The California wine business brought Chris and Brenda Lynch together. A chance meeting over 20 years ago - it’s been a wonderful ride ever since. Mutt Lynch Winery was born in 1995 combining the Lynch’s mutual passion for wine and “all things dog.” Their motto: Apply Dog Logic to Life: Eat Well, Be Loved, Get Petted, Sleep A Lot, Dream of a Leash-Free World. - SARK Mutt Lynch Winery has been sourcing its grapes from vineyards up and down the coast of California. Brenda has one goal in mind - create fruit-forward wines with varietally true aromatics, mid palette weight and flavor, and a full bodied and balanced finish. The beauty of these diverse regions is that they share the cooling influence of the Pacific Ocean. By the way, Brenda’s travels always seem to have stops in beach towns for a cold beer at the local pub, which she claims are an equally important part of her winemaking... DESCRIPTIO Cabernet Sauvignon is so distinct - aromas of cassis and red berry N: fruit are framed by youthful tannins and pretty dark chocolate French oak flavors. Brenda's addition of Merlot adds some pretty red fruit and herbs. The Cabernet Franc is like a pinch of spice; you can't taste it but you know it is there. 'Out of Reach' tastes great now, but is definitely a "keeper" that will soften and grow more complex with some bottle age. WINEMAKIN “Out of Reach” Muttitage is a statement of Brenda’s tasting and G: blending sensibilities. All the wines used in the “Out of Reach” blend come from barrels reserved for Brenda’s reserve wines. At the wine’s core is Cabernet Sauvignon coming from the Perotti Vineyard in Dry Creek Valley. Brenda then found two small lots of Merlot and Cabernet Franc that added some wonderful flavors of dark berry fruit and additional complexity and structure to the wine.
