<p> Position Description For Second Baptist Church Music Director/Musician</p><p>This position is for a part-time music director/musician at Second Baptist Church in Boulder, Colorado; located at 5300 Baseline Road. Second Baptist Church is a religious non-profit organization; established January 7, 1908 by several charter members. The mission statement of Second Baptist is to “promote the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the preaching, teaching and application of the Holy Bible.” The mission of the choirs is to “Minster the gospel of Jesus Christ through songs.” </p><p>Major Duties:  Conduct group rehearsals and instruct / coach members in their individual parts.  Select appropriate music. Position members within the group to obtain balance among vocal sections.  Establish and maintain good rapport with choirs.  Ability to play hymns, traditional and contemporary gospel music.  Must be available to provide music at 11 a.m. on designated Sunday service(s).  Select music, in consultation with the Sr. Pastor, for regular worship services.  Select music that brings glory to God, is biblically correct and ministers to the congregation.</p><p>Knowledge, abilities, skills and other characteristics:</p><p> Ability to lead and direct choirs.  Skillful on piano or keyboard. Dependable, prompt, and respectable appearance (time conscience).  A person of good character with a passion for worship and commitment to God.  Will be held to the same Christian standards as the Pastor.</p><p>Working Environment:</p><p>Current list of Choirs: </p><p> i. Community Choir (ages 25 and up) ii. Men’s Chorus (various ages) </p><p> iii. Shekinah Glory (ages 13-24) iv. Angels Without Wings (ages 3- 12)</p>
