<p>How do I become a MAT Trainer? </p><p>Becoming a successful MAT Trainer takes an investment of time, energy and money. Not only do potential trainers have to take and pass a Medication Administration Training of Trainers (MAT TOT) course (cost is variable), they must also:  put together a MAT Training Kit, which can cost between $300 and $500 to assemble,  print materials,  locate and possibly pay for training sites,  obtain or arrange for appropriate AV equipment,  advertise services, including arranging for and following-up with potential clients (e.g., phone calls, mailings, etc.),  electronically enter appropriate class data (which requires an Internet connection)  complete and mail all appropriate paperwork to MHP on all classes held  meet requirements for renewal at three-year intervals. </p><p>Because of this, we want applicants who understand and are ready to make the investment of time, energy and money needed to become a successful MAT Trainer and who can begin facilitating MAT classes as soon as possible after successfully completing the MAT TOT course. Requirements include:</p><p> Valid license as a registered nurse, licensed practical nurse, doctor of medicine or osteopathic medicine, or pharmacist </p><p> Completed application, including documented evidence of experience in teaching adult learners, knowledge of the child care population and/or experience in working with adults employed in the child care environment, current resume or curriculum vitae (CV), and 3 letters of reference.</p><p>Based on a preliminary screening of completed applications, trainer applicants will be contacted to discuss the MAT program and to answer any questions they may have. Future MAT TOT classes will be offered only to those candidates who have submitted a completed application and who have spoken with a MAT Program representative. </p>
