Applicants must exemplify good character, moral standards, and be a hard worker, respectful, determined, and persistent. Applications are available in the SHS Counseling Office. Deadline: May 11</p><p>2014 Power of Word Scholarship: The Sigma Omega Zeta chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. is sponsoring a $500 scholarship. Applicants must meet the following criteria: be a female graduating senior from an accredited high school in Clayton or Henry County; submit an essay; and have a GPA of at least 2.75. Applications are available in the SHS Counseling Office. Deadline: May 14</p><p>Atlanta Iowa Club Dream Big Scholarship: This $500 scholarship will be awarded to a college bound student who demonstrates academic success, extracurricular and community involvement, and strong written communication skills. Applications are available in the SHS Counseling Office. Deadline: May 20 </p><p>Atlanta Jamaican Association Scholarship: Applicants must meet the following requirements: be of Jamaican parentage (at least one parent); be a college bound high school student; have a minimum 3.0 GPA; not be the recipient of a full scholarship to a college or university; and write a minimum 500 word essay on a specified topic. Applications are available in the SHS Counseling Office. Deadline: May 30</p><p>Street Angels Annual Scholarship: Applicants must meet the following criteria: be entering college during the 2014-15 school year as a freshman; be the child of a licensed motorcycle rider in the state of Georgia; be a resident of Georgia; have a minimum 2.5 GPA; and provide proof of community service. Applications are available in the SHS Counseling Office. Deadline: May 31</p><p>The David Skinner/Georgia Development Authority 2014 Scholarship: Scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors who plan to major in agriculture or a related field. Deadline: June 2</p><p>The CBC Spouses Education Scholarship: This scholarship was established in response to federal cuts in spending for education programs and scholarships. The CBC (Congressional Black Caucus) Spouses Educational Scholarship is a national program that awards scholarships to academically talented and highly motivated students who intend to pursue full-time undergraduate, graduate or doctoral degrees. Established in 1988, the fund has experienced substantial growth and is operated through the district offices of the members of the Scholarship Announcements page 2</p><p>Congressional Black Caucus (CBC). This scholarship application can only be found online at www.cbcfinc.org/cbcf-scholarships.html. Deadline: June 5</p><p>BigSun Scholarship: The BigSun Organization is sponsoring a scholarship for student athletes.
