<p> R.J.Mitchell Medical Centre & Waterhayes Surgery P.P.G Minutes of the Meeting Held at Butt Lane Surgery on 10 th January, 2017</p><p>Present: Colin Oakley Monica Oakley Peter Hall Christine Thomas Ian Knight Tim Hardie Maureen Hesse Derrath Machin Dianne James Dr Arshad</p><p>Apologies: Bob Copeland</p><p>The Minutes of the last PPG meeting dated 22nd November were read and approved.</p><p>Matters Arising : None.</p><p>DNA Progress:</p><p>Colin asked about the differences between the DNA Figures which are supplied from the Surgeries. Dianne said that this could be due to flu vaccination appointments with the nurses which are only short appointments which she did not include in her figures. In addition if some patients cancelled an appointment with the doctor this would still show on the screen as a DNA as it was impossible to remove these from the screen. Peter suggested publishing an Annual DNA Report. Colin said that he would do this in his Chairman’s Report.</p><p>Update on GP Recruitment</p><p>Dr Arshad said that the current situation was not working. He is still in the situation of having to use locum Doctors. He is currently advertising for Doctors and is also looking to recruit a Nurse Practitioner. He also stated that Heathcote Street Surgery now have a Nurse Practitioner.</p><p>Feedback from Annual Charity Fundraiser</p><p>Derrath said that the Cheques had been sent out but that to date she had not received any communication from either the Salvation Army or Dementia Research. She said that she would follow this up and give Colin any copies of letters received so that he could publish these on the website and display in the Surgeries.</p><p>Subjects for February Video:</p><p>Suggestions for inclusion in the February video included: Winter Temperatures, SAD Syndrome, Mental Health/ Depression, Hearing Voices, Sugar & Obesity, Fit 4 Life. Debt Advice. Plus the usual Notices. Tim said he had seen some good items on You Tube about sugar intake. He will forward the info to Colin.</p><p>Message in a Bottle:</p><p>Dianne said that 90 of these had been delivered to each Surgery, to date 38 have been issued to patients. The Nurses have been distributing these, one per household. Two or more forms can be put into the bottle and it is being suggested to patients that they attach a small photo of themselves to their form. The “Message in a Bottle” info is also being included on the Surgery Videos. .</p><p>A.O.B :</p><p>Ian stated that he had seen accounts information on the NHS website regarding the financial spending and what he regarded as money being wasted by the NHS. He is to try to find this information which he will forward to Colin so that he can bring this up at the Locality Meeting under the War on Waste.</p><p>Derrath asked Colin about the progress with the Patient Survey. Colin said that he would bring this up at the Locality Meeting next week. . The Next Meeting will be on Tuesday 7th March 2017. At 6.30pm. At Butt Lane Surgery. This Meeting will be the AGM followed by a PPG Meeting</p><p>It is essential that as many members as possible attend.</p>
