<p>Case Tracking Quick Reference Guide </p><p>Legal Representatives Legal Representatives Version: 1.0 Date: May 2015 1. CASE TRACKING IN THE MAGISTRATES’ COURT OF VICTORIA</p><p>On 4 May 2015, the Magistrates’ Court of Victoria introduced ‘Case Tracking’ a function that allows members of the public to register to receive hearing information via email and/ or SMS text message. If you choose to follow or track a matter you will also be sent an update via email and/or SMS text message. </p><p>2. HOW IT WORKS</p><p>1. Visit the Magistrates’ Court website www.magistratescourt.vic.gov.au</p><p>The front screen will appear, click on the ‘Go to Daily Law List and Efas’</p><p>Case Tracking Guide 2</p><p>May 2015 2. The Daily Law List and EFAS screen will appear in a new window</p><p>For Case Tracking, the only two tabs relevant are Browse Court and Case Search.</p><p>3. Browse Court and Case Search The default screen is Browse Court. This function allows you to search listings by Court region. Case search (pictured below) allows you to search court listings by a specific criteria, for example, the court case number or a party name.</p><p>Case Tracking Guide 3</p><p>May 2015 4. Selecting case for Case Tracking Once you select the case you want to case track the following screen will appear:</p><p>To register for Case Tracking, you will need to nominate as to whether you are a party to the case and then enter an email address, mobile number or both.</p><p>Once the information is entered, click on submit details. If registration is successful, a message will appear stating a confirmation has been sent to you. </p><p>Case Tracking Guide 4</p><p>May 2015 Please note: email notification will require clicking a link in the confirmation email. No action needs to be taken with the SMS confirmation. If hearing details are updated on the case you are tracking, an email and/or SMS message will be sent the day after the hearing details updated. 3. REMOVAL OF CASE TRACKING If you no longer require Case Tracking, or you have accidentally selected the wrong case for Case Tracking, you can unsubscribe. Make sure the ‘Remove’ button is selected, and re enter your email address and or mobile phone number and then click ‘Submit Details’.</p><p>4. PRIVACY INFORMATION The Magistrates’ Court of Victoria will only use your nominated email address or mobile phone number for the purpose of Case Tracking. You do not need to enter your name or home address to register. The Magistrates’ Court of Victoria’s Privacy Statement can be found on the website. </p><p>5.
